West Ham are keen to point out there have been no “crunch ” talks over David Moyes’ future.
There is little doubt that as ever much hype is going on among the media with the Mail in particular whop seemed keen to use the word when discussing his decision or otherwise to stay.
In fact last Friday’s talks centred solely on the season as a whole and is the usual process at the club when the campaign closes.
Now it is becoming clear from the targets being mentioned as being on the Moyes short list – notably Harvey barnes – that the manager is almost certain to remain at the club.
The biggest giveaway was when he made it clear that as we head for a third year in Europe his job is to build on what has been achieved and ensure that it happens year on year.
As revealed earlier the Hammers want him to stay and no CRUNCH talks as such have or are likely to be in the agenda.
He is currently involved in the scenario concerning Declan Rice’s move and will be consulting with the board on his choice as a replacement.
The newspaper speculation and false ‘exclusive’ reports drives idiots like me, trying to keep uptodate regularly, crazy. I think Moyes has done an amazing job over 3 years but cannot forgive this last season in the PL. Poor tactics, team selection and always proud of what he is doing, even when we 3rd botom. Please leave on a high and let us restart NOW not when we are a few weeks from 2023/24 season.
I find it staggering that any West Ham fan would want David Moyes to leave. He has delivered the club’s first European trophy since 1965 and has now guaranteed a 3rd consecutive season of European football. No one would have ever guessed that a few seasons ago. Moyes brings stability, leadership and a wealth of experience. The day he leaves West Ham is the day the club can forget all about European competitions.
Did you watch the games throughout the season? Dud you enjoy them ? NO Was the football entertaining ? NO. Had Moyes anything to do with us staying up NO. Dud you enjoy the way we played in final ? NO Was it a good performance ?NO Had Moyes anything to do with keeping us up NO .Hand he anything to do with us nearly losing it and getting relegated YES. So it it is quite reasonably why fans want him gone. I just renewed my season ticket in the hope he is sacked and if not sacked at least he leaves, if not at the very worse he changes his approach. All we want is a change in approach but he has proven to date he wont change. We are not getting the most of the best squad we have ever had. And one final comment it’s not just this season, for the second half of last season we were also awful. So u think it’s quite understandable why fans want a change. If you did a survey of the players I firmly believe they want him gone too (from a football perspective).
Great to see the players celebrating with Moyes for days after winning the European cup. Arteta the Arsenal manager recently said that when he played for Moyes at Everton he would have run through brick walls for the man. Declan Rice recently said that Moyes is the best West Ham manager ever. Clearly the players love Moyes. Did Moyes have anything to do with keeping us up on three occasions, on getting us to 6 and 7th place, winning a trophy and qualifying for European football 3 years in a row. The answer is yes yes yes and yes again. Of course he did. Ridiculous to say otherwise.
