No pressure on Irons for January signings

Marko looks likely to be back for the Brighton match

West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini is unlikely to be making new signing in the  January transfer window.

After a £100 million spend up in the summer it’s unlikely – with things going well – that Manuel Pellegrini will be seeking additions until the summer.
With the club climbing the league facing games which could feasibly see them on around 30 points by the start of the new year there would be no desperate necessity for new faces until the summer.
There are areas which need cover such as right and left back but the boss is more likely to use Michail Antonio on the right side in emergencies and persist with Cresswell or Masuaku on the left.
The board is being forced to take a cautious view of finances given the club will lose around £30 to £40 million on their own estimates and have no spare money at this stage for big or even moderately priced signings.

There’s the added problem of breaching Football Fair Play rules if we add much to wages or spend on transfers.

In reality there seems that whilst new players will be required in the summer a strong end of season will ensure we are facing no big problems in January or the new year.

Jack Wilshere and Andy Carroll are both fit again and Marko is expected back for the game against Brighton at the London Stadium on December 2.
