Apologies for the tardy team news. But there are some headlines that West Ham United supporters will not welcome…
Captain Declan Rice, Tomáš Souček and Nayef Aguerd are all absent, with the reason why to be confirmed by manager David Moyes in his pre-match media duties. Kurt Zouma is also ruled out through injury, as is Gianluca Scamacca. Is this the “we are not going to win so let`s rest our players” strategy we heard about in a previous CandH post ?
It hardly sends out a statement of intent…does it?
The trio’s absence means Moyes makes four changes to the team which started at Crystal Palace on Sunday, with Thilo Kehrer, Angelo Ogbonna, Aaron Cresswell and Flynn Downes all drafted into the starting XI. Cresswell takes the captain’s armband.
Anyway we start as:
West Ham United: Fabianski, Coufal, Kehrer, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Emerson, Downes, Paqueta, Fornals, Bowen, Antonio.
Subs: Areola, Anang, Johnson, Lanzini, Cornet, Ings, Benrahma.
Good luck lads!
