No surprise Irons winger wants to stay

It really isn’t so surprising that Andriy Yarmolenko wants to stay at West Ham!

It may be loyalty or it may be something else relayed to cash of course. We revealed in our last story that his agent is reported as saying that the Ukranian wants to remain at the London Stadium.

The real question is given his injury record and, that he is the top Irons earner ,whether the club want him to do so.

The fact remains that should a club come in for him the Hammers would entertain offers bearing in mind that he made just 15 Premier league appearances last season and 21 the season before.

He has done well in the Euros of course and some are suggesting that we hold on to him as a result but international football is some way removed from the hurly burly of the Premier League and at £115k a week it’s likely the club will let him depart should they get a sensible offer.

  1. I believe the correct decision is to sell him and not keep him. He is not suited to the close contact and pace of the PL, if we get an offer say of 7m for him I would accept it and move on even if it means we cover a % of his salary in his final year to cover the salary he is on. There will be suitors especially after the Euro’s but selling him is the right business decision for the club. I like him, he has never really complained of not being in the team and has just been a good professional. I wish him well.

  2. When you consider that Yarmo remaining with us is actually preventing us from improving as a team, it becomes a gut-wrenching thought. You can’t fool all of the supporters all the time and I don’t see £115K/Week of threat, effort and desire whenever he steps out onto that pitch. All I see is languid strolling around and against the better teams, his threat is easily extinguished. The player we want to put pressure on Bowen needs to be energetic, effective and a Real threat… this is the type of player that top six teams should have on the bench or in the team.
We have lived with poor for so long, that we have learned to live with it… a culture that Moyes is trying to change funds permitting.

  3. I would sell , ok he has some quality but does not suit us under DM . I would take 5-10 million & bye bye ⚒

  4. Other reports say he wants to leave !!! , nobody knows the truth . I personally would prefer him stay . Injury didn’t help his or west hams cause last season . Shame that some fans are all too ready to stab players in the back . He is an international player and proving his worth .
It is surely up to west ham to either improve his situation or sell .

  5. He has been great for us in the games he’s played. Created, assisted and scored some vital goals for us. How quickly they forget though when a player is out injured for any length of time. Was practically replaced by Bowen however when he came in. Yarmo is now really a back up to Bowen but who knows once fully fit, which I don’t think we’ve ever seen him, he’s a hell of a player and Bowen would have strong competition for his place.
