No truth in Hammers keeper speculation

|

West Ham have no plans to make a move for West Bromwich Albion’s soon to be out of contract goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.

A recent comment from Tony Cottee that the Hammers are soon to make an announcement about signing a stopper has led several internet sites to speculate the the Baggies keeper is the man concerned.

And news from via Hawthorns that manager Steve Bruce is close to agreeing a new contract for 33 year old David Button appears to confirm that Johnstone is on his way.

He has been regularly linked with us over recent months but ClaretandHugh was told by a key Hammers source this morning there is no truth in the suggestion.

And that would appear to confirm that on loan Alphonse Areola is set to join the club although there has been no definite statement from the Hammers.

However, our insider declared: “The manager likes him a lot! “
