Manuel Lanzini and Mauro Zarate showed precisely what they were capable of in 45 brilliant first half minutes last weekend.
“We had a similar team then to the one we’ve got now with a little bit of pace and power and a bit of flair, and we had a hero in Carlos that day.
“I saw a little comment or two from Manu and Mauro, our two Argentinian boys, who know Carlos well and the fans love, and hopefully they can create something special for us on Saturday.”
“It’s a game we’re looking forward to. We’ve obviously beat a lot of big teams this year already and we need to get back to winning ways, so what a place that would be to get another three points.
“Obviously over the last 20 years their fans have been used to their teams really going for it, creating chances and scoring goals, and that doesn’t seem to be Louis van Gaal’s philosophy.
“We need to go there and take advantage of that and try to create our own chances, which I’m sure we will.”
You won’t have to preach to the xenophiles on here mark. You’ll have a tougher job convincing them you or the other homegrown players are worth a place in the team though.
