Noble: “We can’t feel sorry for ourselves”

NobleMark Noble has claimed the players refuse to feel dorry for themselves after the FC Astra set back declaring: “We were disappointed by the result.

“But if you ask if we are angry and upset I would say no because we have got to try and win on Thursday night and then we have got Arsenal on Sunday.

“With the quality that we had on the pitch it could have been a lot more but they had a wonder strike and a freak goal and it made it hard for us.

“We can’t be upset because if we go into the Premier League feeling sorry for ourselves we are going to get punished. We have got to stay positive and I am sure we will be fine.”

  1. You should be very pi**ed off with the result on thursday. 2-0 up against a poor romanian team, getting another player sent off (one in each round so far) & then letting FC Astra back into the tie. Even with 10 players we should have been able to get the result needed.
don’t feel sorry for yourself but ffs show some sort of emotion over the failure, disappointed is not enough. I know we haven’t lost the tie yet but lets not pretend that result was any thing but sh*t.. we can win the 2nd leg but now need to send a strong squad out there to do so. Not ideal with PL start on sunday.
imho we are in for a good season & we will be flying when the players gel into Slav’s style.

  2. Agree with you 100% Essex
We have plenty of players in our squad to rest key players for Sunday and still put out a strong side for winning on Thursday,
Just need some faith and backbone go out there fight for your lives and get the result,
Only people feeling sorry for their selves are a few fans who don’t trust Class,

  3. How about for Astra
    Burke, Tomkins, Henry, Hendrie,
    Nolan, Poyet, Oxford, Jarvis
    Maiga & Lee
With Spiegel; Cullen, knoyle, Samuelson, Lanzini (If ready) Noble, Parfitt-Williams.

    Leaves: for the Gooners;
    Jenkinson, Reid, Ogbanna, Cresswell
    Kouyate, Noble, Amalfitano
    Sahko & Zarate
with; Randolph, Collins, Henry, Tomkins, Jarvis, Lee, (Oxford,or Poyet) on the bench
Shame Obiang is not fit, but not sure if Lanzini is ready for the bench, then if so He obviously will get the nod.
Hopefully Sow (or another) may be on board by Sunday week if so makes us even stronger and may be even allow us to send Zarate out to Romania to boost the attack.
A 1 – 0 win in Romania (Or even Pens) & a draw at the Emirates

  4. Whoops….Forgot Jenkinson (Club tied) will need to Play Tomkins @ RB.

  5. We still , haven’t got it right . Thursday is crunch day and definitely time to get it right ., otherwise we can kiss Europe goodbye . Next up is Arsenal . Nothing else to say , except
    Come On you Hammers .
The team should be feeling gutted right now , it was ridiculous to throw away a two goal lead where Astra now have two away goals in their favour . Collins getting sent off !!!
New Manager , New Squad , New Style ,,, but still the same old West Ham .
Something needs sorting pretty sharpish before things go all pear shaped .

  6. Imho is that if we send that team to Romania & our european tour will be over. Maiga & Lee up front….. not convinced with either. Samuelson would be my first choice +1 not sure who yet & I wouldn’t let Nolan anywhere near a C&B shirt ever again, would sooner have Noble play. I would be tempted to give Jenks a run out as he can’t play at Arsenal.
I’m trying not to be negative & i really want us to get through & reach the group stages.

  7. We dont want Nolan or Noble . They are both an embarasment. We have Poyet and a choice of youngsters that are a MUCH better bet than these 2 has/ never beens

  8. Tomkins red card 3 game ban 6 and Collins, that’s why I left them for Sunday with Jenks free for Thursday which means you need Burke for Sunday to,
Old not have Nolan on the pitch on Thursday or the bench for Sunday
Alfitano against the Gooners no thanks,to slow,
But there are plenty of players
I would preference to pick the best team for the start on Thursday and if we can get a couple of goals to get the away goals back to normal bring on subs nod and save there legs,

  9. Bubs , I agree .. But , with Europe being massive for us this season we need a Two nil win .
If we should be good enough to to get ahead by two goals I would definitely make no changes and keep my strongest side on the field for 90 minutes . Nobody is expecting us to actually beat Arsenal next Sunday , and we have the whole season to avoid a relegation battle . But to be honest I don’t know what I am seeing ,,, Sam Bilic or Slaven Allardyce .
The sooner we settle down into a rhythm the better . It would be nice to have seen the last of Nolan , but I reserve my judgement on Noble for the time being .
We certainly can’t afford more injury’s and need to stop getting Red Cards .

  10. Sorry Kev, but l expect to beat the Gooners come Sunday. Could have actually beaten them last year if it wasnt for negative tactics. l expect to win every match we play and if only the players could too

  11. Let me qualify that. l expect to win every match as long as Nolegs and Noble are not in the team

  12. Some people should not be allowed to post on here if they can’t get the fundamentals right.
    Hendrie injured.
    Tomkins banned
    Jenkinson unavailable
    Reid injured

Amalfitano in the first XI got to laugh at that

    • I guess your so clued up, you probably don’t need to read other peoples opinions or ideas.
I wonder why you bother to lower yourself to even log on.

      • Oh, and by the way Ian Dale on WHITD posted his starting line up which includes Valencia another person with a fundamental floor. He also rates Amalfitano ..really some people.

    • F*ck me,be very careful in future what you post Brooking. One mistake & you will get pounced on,lol.Cant wait!! 😉

  13. Some people should lighten up & not get their knickers in a twist about other peoples posts.Even if they get their info wrong they dont need some guy to try to belittle them. But i guess if thats what floats your boat crack on!!

    • Thanks Tyson
There has been no update on the Official website regarding injuries since 25th June so it wasn’t clear about Hendrie being still being unavailable. I also understood Reid was going to be fit for the Arsenal game. The comments were for open discussion i.e. how about as a starting suggestion, Tomkins ban was a mistake I agree.

  14. I think Reid’s ment to be back but u expect him to be saved for the arsenal game.

  15. That’s correct Tyson everyone has favourites and starting first 11 and are in titled to there say,
There will never be agreement over home grown players like Noble, and Alfitano has done no wrong but does not quite look fit to me this season so far,
Plus there are a loy of players at the moment on the edge of fitness,
Obiang,Lee,Hendrie,Lizzie the Argie only Slav will know when they are ready,
