Nolan “in talks”

|

Kevin-NolanKevin Nolan is understood to have held talks with Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe today.

The former Irons skipper as an out of contract player is available to sign terms with any interested club and the Cherries are believed to fancy the 33 year old.

A source close to the player told ClaretandHugh exclusively that the midfieder was on the south coast to meet the newly promoted Bournemouth boss.

He said:”He was at the club today. No decision has been taken but talks are definitely underway Β and it would be no surprise were he to join them.”

You just know that he’ll play and score against us

  • TysonM says:

Always had Eddie Howe down as a sensible young manager.Maybe not πŸ˜‰

  • navajoHAMMER says:

Recruiting Kev for his experience possibly, the plus side is he will be with a progressive manager and he could lean towards coaching.

  • bunny67 says:

Iron that his last game for us was against us when he looked so exposed!!
That said he will add huge experience to bmth and will be a good leader for them.

  • JimmyF says:

Just feel sorry for the poor guy who will lose his place in the team to a traffic cone. The guy aint good enough for the prem anymore.

  • StingRay Stewart says:

Really dont get this one.I really rate Eddie Howe & the way he tries to get B’mouth to play.Slav said Nolan left because he didnt want to sit on the bench but he aint good enough to get into B’mouths team either. He might bring experience but he is past it as well.B’mouth players aint stupid, they will soon find out they have a liability in their team.

When he played for us I was seen as anti Nolan, but as with the above I don’t understand how he could be of benefit to any Premier team even if he was free which will happen,
His agent as his ex manager are doing him and his reputation any good,
He should take a break with his family and wait for the lower league managers to start dropping and then put in for a player / managers job at a realistic wage and start his managerial career,
And get a new agent or he will be finished in this sport

  • ExPat_Hammer says:

I think he’ll be a good signing, actually, for Bournemouth. It will give them a tactical change when they want to stop attacking with pace πŸ˜‰

  • Si Hammer says:

Couldnt he get a move to one of those over 55 walking football teams,im sure Barclays could get him a transfer to one of them as an ‘under-age’ player πŸ˜‰

  • johnboy says:

    Can’t see it myself !!!!
    30 _40 grand a week for experience ?????
    NO WAY !!!
    does not make sense !!!!!!

  • GW says:

Bournemouth and KN might be a good fit, I can see him now wandering down the promenade thermos in hand, taking a seat on a bench with his potted meat sandwich reminiscing about the good old days of winning all those trophies and single handily keeping teams up and single handily getting them promoted.

  • bubs says:

Wait for Blackpool to give there manager the heave ho and he will be near home still do the promenade walk enter strictly like Savage,
Could become there longest serving manager ( not many months )
Hippo did him no favours last year ( what are friends for )

  • rugbyirons says:

Best news on a Sunday morning. We only need three teams below us.this will virtually guarantee Bournemouth will be one with Nolan.

    • GW says:

Rugby we don’t need to worry about that we’ll be nowhere near the bottom 3 anyway, I’m no fan of Mr N and never bought into all this bull**** of him being the greatest captain in history but you’ve got to let it go you’ll give yourself a heart attack stressing about him mate, the Jurassic era is finished and all the deadwood is floating around elsewhere
