Claret & Hugh Exclusive as Potter’s West Ham Future Looks Shaky

As the bookies slash odds on West Ham boss Graham Potter being the favourite in the sack race, more names are being linked with the Hammers hot seat.

Of course, Potter remains in the job for now, but one suspects a loss to Crystal Palace this coming weekend could be the final straw.

The name of Nuno Espírito Santo has dominated speculation over the last few days. However, as Martin wrote earlier, there have also been reports of Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna being wined and dined in the directors’ box as West Ham lost to Tottenham on Saturday.

Some have even suggested the recently relegated coach as a possible replacement for Potter. But when Claret & Hugh asked our top transfer source whether there was any likelihood of McKenna stepping in, we were swiftly told it was a non-starter: “That’s hilarious, where has that story come from? Not a chance.”

The source could not confirm whether the Tractor Boys boss was in attendance at the London Stadium following his side’s 5-0 demolition of Sheffield United on Friday. Nonetheless, he was certain McKenna was not in line for the West Ham job.

He also reiterated that José Mourinho was not under consideration either—but confirmed Potter urgently needs a result.

I think we need a character to liven these bunch of pussies up, I honestly think sack potter and get mark noble to take over for a period and see what happens , I’m sure he would be more animated on and off of the touchline we need a no nonsense character?

Potter can’t see what’s happening during a match…Yes he was the antidote to Loppy..But he has now proved he just can’t manage a team..Too many times during games he has either made the wrong decision or worse no decisions at all..He now has his team..We have given him plenty of time..His basic philosophy is flawed…We haven’t got the time to waste on experimentation…He had the back of last season for that….I hate changing managers again..But in this League it really is do or die..The next one has to hit the floor running…. Mourinho for me.

You’re misreading it Mick, I didn’t say club insider . . . I have a source at the training ground and that’s it, Sean has the contacts at a high level at the club.

My transfer source is an agent who is laughing because he knows the link is bollocks.

Potter should /never have been here in the first place Sullivan should have stuck to his first instinct And not given in to Brady She will get us relegated ALL BY HERSELF Her choices and attitude might make a good impression on the apprentice BUT its the wrong way for WHU

At the moment the situation is retrievable with a change, give it 5 more games and it might be another situation entirely. I don’t see Potter turning this team around the central defence are poor and he seems determined to play JWP irrespective of evidence it isn’t working. On Saturday he should have took JWP off and left Fernandes on, should have got Wilson on earlier and left Summerville on who looked our most dangerous player. He seems devoid of ideas and who can blame him he is in the centre of a storm and it’s not likely to subside without results, I don’t think he is a bad coach but this isn’t working out and he has had a good chance to turn it around and there are no signs that he is doing that quite the opposite.
