The breaking news on the Jhon Duran to West Ham saga shows no sign of slowing down this evening.
Football transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has just posted on his social media that Aston Villa has rejected West Ham’s latest offer for the Colombian forward.
The latest report seems to suggest that the Midlands club has knocked back the Hammers’ substantial offer of Ā£32m, Lewis Orford, and a sell-on clause in exchange for Duran.
Orfordās inclusion in the deal has resulted in a very concerned response from West Ham fans, many of whom, like myself, are worried that yet another academy prospect could be allowed to leave.
Speaking on his X account, Romano wrote, “Understand Aston Villa rejected West Ham’s new bid for Jhon DurĆ”n. Ā£32m, Lewis Orford, and sell-on clause still not enough to meet the Ā£40m valuation wanted by Villa. āļø Negotiations continue as DurĆ”n wants West Ham, up to the clubs.”
Presumably, the issue must be money-related or the structure of the deal. A high-ranking West Ham source informed Claret & Hugh this evening that Villa did have an interest in signing Orford.
Villa can go and try and flog him somewhere else we should say deal over and goodbye š
What an absolute shambles West Ham are in the transfer market. At the last count I believe there are 18 players they are interested in.Now it appears that even though they are desperate for a centre forward they are reluctant to pay a realistic price. It seems every club in the Premiership are making deals without problems .
one season wonder villa will be struggling this year remember only few years ago just avoided relegation
tell them to do one
Dragging as per usual, we should look else where, there must be other strikers we can focus on rather than the back and forth with this deal, villa want him gone so either hold out or go look somewhere else
Are we really that desperate?
The amounts of money changing hands for unproven and reserve players, even young ones with potential, is just daft.
Durans a top striker will be 100 million plus for him, but heās still young and doesnāt care about anyone else or his club , his attitude is very bad and disrespectful his agent is the same, seems to think he knows more about football than anyone else he was dropped for Watkins and went straight to Chelsea thinking he would get an 9 year contract and Ā£200,000 grand a week, walked back on the training ground in front of staff n players if to say look at me , Chelsea wanted him to earn his way up the ranks and be rewarded with pay rises but after talks wasnāt interested,, just becarful hammers as long as itās all his way and heās not a sub then it will be ok but if he gets challenged he will disrespect your club fans staff and team spirit, wish he could be different and grow up abit faster but his agent is after the money there doing old school stuff that doesnāt work anymore unless youāre a top world class player,, heās lucky that he can be that good else he be cast out
For that money I’d rather pay bit extra to Brentford and take Ivan Toney much better striker and proven, crazy to offer villa Ā£32m plus a future prospect and sell on % Jesus why not hand them the bank details and pin number. If we do this deal Villa have well and truly had Sullivan’s pants pulled down and fucked us royally.
Why be bent over for an unproven striker who cannot get a start at Villa?
Furthermore,John McGinn offered to drive him to any club that would have him
We seem to always ignore bloody obvious warning signs about players, NEVER go near anyone with bad injury record or with anyone with an attitude problem. Even if they are happy for a few months something will eventually annoy them and you are left dealing with overpaid pratt with teenage stropiness and no one wants that
The truth is the villa do not have to sell him and any club interested will have to pay the market rate . He has an unenviable temperament which makes him difficult to manage even for someone like Unai
Hopefully , Steiden should realize itās time to move on to another target and fortunately the
entire West Ham , breathing a sigh of relief that Orford remains .
Time to move on
Go get Brobbey from Ajax and keep Orford
Keep Orford and tell Villa to go do one! Buy David as a much better player anyways!
Sullivan your a joke, we need to increase our Squad, if you need to get rid of players, get shot of your previous failed transfer purchases, oh I forgot NO ONE WANTS THEM Keep hold of our promising youngsters who have not been given a chance yet.
Villa have had a very good transfer season up to now.
More than you can say about whu.
Time to stick two fingers up and walk away from Duran.
Seems like his history is questionable and fee to high.
Neither him Toney or Summerville are coming, too rich for our blood.
Need to be realistic and look at players with fee of £20m max.
Still at least 4-5 players needed, roll on end of August before hitting panic button.
Ditch the bid, Duran has shown no signs he is PL level, Villa don’t need the money, there are plenty of other strikers out there, Orford has a chance of making it as a first team player and will be worth far more than Duran if he does. Better to wait until there is someone a club want to sell, let Duran rot in the reserves if the rumours are true about him he will be a nightmare to manage, I suspect that is the way Villa are playing it anyway, they want to teach him a lesson for being so disrespectful to the club. We spend every window it seems looking for strikers that never come En Nesri, David etc stop dealing with time waster clubs like Villa, Chelski, Arsenil and Man Ure
Agree 100% with that comment as a Villa fan that they want to teach Duran a lesson for the disrespect to the club.
If you look at the transfer, from a WHU perspective they will look at the overall cost including salary and agent commission. My thought is that Villa are forcing the agent and player to reduce their cut so that WH can pay the fee Villa want. Smart if it comes off.All the best for the season ahead. UTV!!
Shoulda bought Youssef En-Nesyri for half the price.
EVERY transfer window is the same. Why can we not plan a strategy and stick to it rather than throwing our interest and money at potential signings like confetti at a wedding?
Bonkers owners strike again. Keep Orford, he is our future Rice.
Time to tell Villa to foxtrot Oscar and move on to other options whilst keeping Lewis. We are getting ripped off big time here.
Time to pull out, period, need to move on.
The fact Villa want to sign Orford suggests that they see something in him which we clearly don’t value and given they’re in the CL and we’re not then they’re probably right. Therefore we shouldn’t see without giving the kid a chance to see if he’s good enough for the prem
Duran mainly unproven . May improve but dont think he’s popular at Villa Park. Not a single player congratulated him when he scored 2 against Liverpool.
Happy Villain.
Even happier if you cough up silly money.
UTV!!
Walk away…Villa want Ā£40million nobody else interested Emery wants him gone as he is disruptive well let them keep a disruptive unhappy player and pull out the stops to get Toney…….if later in the Window(most likely after we have played Villa)they call us and drop there valuation tell them thanks but no thanks….we have supposedly other targets time to look again…this smacks of Maxi Gomez all over again and look how poor he was we dodged that bullet so lets dodge this one.
Ivan Tony.. To Wet Spam? You’re joking right?
Unai will lure him to Villa Park before you’ve even managed to raise funds to buy him.
love villa fans suddenly piping up because they had a good season š¤£. Failed to win a trophy that west ham DID win and suddenly they think they’re a bigger pull š¤£š¤£š¤£
Dhuran isn’t disruptive, he wants more game time that’s all. When you’ve got a team as big as Villa, you’ll understand the difficulties of giving equal match time to so much talent.
VTID. Wet Spam… Cheap meat for the masses.
lol Villa a big club how did you get on in the Conference league? and a season in the champions league you will be just like the barcodes…so enjoy your moment in the spotlight….Watkins will leave when a big club come in for him….Wolves maybe?
Like Rice did when a big club came in for him!
Exactly and it was not Villa…Wolves a far bigger club….1996 when you last won something yawn big clubs do better.
J
Pull out, Villa are getting too greedy
Pay the money they want and get it done keeping our talent where it belongs
Duran would be an upgrade for WHU. In the few chances he has had at Villa, he can be a handful and score goals. Unfortunately, he is currently playing second fiddle to Watkins. Villa donāt have to sell, but he is worth what a Club is willing to pay. WHU walk away, I donāt think Villa would be too bothered. There are other clubs interested.
Good as Iām fed up of West Ham bankrolling Aston Villa again after Ings overspend Rather pay extra 10 mill to agents of David whose proved himself
We played Lille overthe 2 legs he was pretty useless and no where near as good as Duran. Ings was ok at Villa but I get your point as his legs are gone.
This is turning out to be another long tortuous West Ham chase thatās doomed to end in failure.
Move on NOW whilst we have time.
Too much , tell them no and move on
Time to walk away and see if they come back to us.
Tbh either pay up keep orford or clear off
Let’s move on. The guy is unproven. Villa can do one!!
Obviously the kid has no brains given the chance to play CL football or play for a mid table London side
“Chance to play” or “play ” that’s the question buddy … he ain’t good enough for Villa
Agree
Super Sullivan strikes
Tell Villa they are crazy and walk away. No gain as far as I can see, loose 1 player with very little first team experience and get another one in return but loose £30 mil in the trade. Not good business!
Villa do not need any second rate players from mid table teams, walk away and sell Duran to a proper club
Joe
Tell Villa to keep him .32 million and a very promising player is not good business than how much he is going to cost .And if Orford is going to keep progressing than how much he is going to be worth? So Duran is going to cost more than Haller and Scamacca don’t be ridiculous Villa .West Ham should walk away and immediately and don’t keep wasting your time have a look at the championship or lower divisions and be sure you will find a player as good as Duran or better and a lot cheaper because West Ham needs more than a centre forward we can’t splash the cash on one unproven player .
