Breaking news reports suggest that West Ham remains in the race for Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo and go as far as to say the player has met with Julen Lopetegui. This is at odds with information C&H has had directly from the club who maintain no deal for the central defender is imminent.

Furthermore, the reports emerging from France suggest that West Ham remains the only club to have made a transfer offer for the player of €35m, which is understood to be lower than the French club’s valuation.

It had been assumed that West Ham’s interest in the Frenchman had ended with the £40m purchase of Max Kilman from Wolves, therefore it’s somewhat surprising to see the rumour resurface.

Claret & Hugh spoke directly to a club source who told us, “No more central defenders will be signed until we have sold one. We can’t keep more than four CB’s.”

Nayef Aguerd and Kurt Zouma remain on the club’s unofficial transfer list, and both were rumoured to have been offered to Nice in exchange for Todibo, but the club did not wish to go into detail on the composition of the offer.

Reading between the lines, there is probably some agent work at play in an effort to ramp up some interest in the player. Whilst West Ham do indeed admire the player, as things stand we’re in no position to make the transfer even if Nice accepted our first transfer offer.

Am I alone in finding hard to accept that the Kilman transfer fee reported is factually correct?
The fee is undisclosed, a package of around €40m cited,
but how much is actually gauranteed excluding add ons?
As for Tobido, can’t say I know anything about him whatsoever, if we end up signing him hopefully he settles in well.
Exactly how much has been received for the sales of Keherer, Fornals, Benrahma combined with the wage savings of all the released players Ogbonna, Johnson etc.

I think that several more signings will be made, but not until disgruntled players have been shipped out, if correct
where is all the income gone from a record financial year?

Karen Brady loves to keep herself busy more so after her recent lecture to the West ham fans she is clearly in need of some form of release.
