Breaking reports claim that West Ham defender Konstantinos Mavropanos could return to VfB Stuttgart as they seek to bolster heir backline. The Greek centre-back started in the Premier League opener against Aston Villa last Saturday, where the Hammers suffered a 2-1 loss.

Although ‘Dinos’ was expected to drop to the bench in favour of new transfer Jean-Clair Todibo for the weekend’s fixture against Crystal Palace, he was anticipated to establish himself as Julen Lopetegui’s third-choice defender.

West Ham’s preference seems to be offloading both Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd, favouring Mavropanos, who delivered a decent performance against Villa.

However, with Zouma’s failed medical and rumoured Saudi interest in Aguerd not materialising, the club might be forced to sell a player they would rather keep to balance the books.

Mavropanos was signed from VfB Stuttgart a little over a year ago having been extensively scouted by Tim Steidten. The former Arsenal defender is believed to be settled and happy at West Ham but it remains to be seen if other players can be offloaded.

    ‘Extensively scouted’!

He didn’t need to do any scouting as he would’ve known everything there was to know about Mav.
The reason we took him was he was one of the only Steidten suggestions Moyes gave the go-ahead for.
I like Mav and I’d still like to see him play a few more times for us.
As for third choice CB, he’s far better than crocked Zouma and couldn’t care less Aguerd.

Yeah, I like Mav too. Like to keep him and give him time to develop.

I’d like to see more of Dinos (Mav?) before he gets ‘offloaded’, but at what cost?
Is the PSR penalties a real possibility?
Would West Ham have to sell another valuable asset to keep him?
No one is paying £big for Zouma, Aguard is seemingly in limbo, would losing him be worse than losing Paqueta, JWP, or Soucek?

      Soo many questions….

Mavropanos is at the lower level of PL standards, great attitude and wish him well if true, would like to see us sign Fabricio Bruno who we were after at the start of the window he is an intimidating and imposing character that would be a threat at set pieces.
