Nottingham Forest 2 West Ham 0
Areola:8 Great save from Elanga on 4 mins. Forced into action again on 28 mins and again two mins later with a save at the feet of Awoniyi. Another smart save to thwart an Elanga shot early in the the second half. A very busy boy.
Coufal:4 Forest’s two best chances in the first half came from his position. Easy pickings for Forest and Coufal was given a bloody nose literally and metaphorically.
Zouma:6 Was understandably targeted by Forest. Won some aerial battles but looked ponderous at times.
Aguerd:5 Rescued a mix-up between Kudus and Emerson early in the game. Got outdone by Awoniyi for Forest’s opener. Moved to left back and got caught out by Williams for West Ham’s second.
Emerson:4 One of his poorer games.
Alvarez:5 Firefighting constantly.
Phillips:4 Shot tamely when set up by Bowen. Made some tackles. Sent off on 72 mins for a second yellow on a day of awful discipline for West Ham.
Ward Prowse:5 Really struggled to find a killer pass against and organised Forest defence.
Bowen:4 Back in his favoured wing role but was easily contained. I’m flabbergasted the wingers weren’t switched in the first half given how much they struggled. Had a tame shot easily saved in the second half.
Kudus:5 Booked early in the game and had a tough battle with Williams.
Antonio:5 Had his chance to run on goal midway through the first half but Murillo was equal to it. Grew frustrated with the officiating but never gave up trying.
Substitutes
Cornet: 75th min sub for Antonio. Had an immediate chance to score but missed the ball. Lucky not to concede a penalty.
Johnson: 75th min sub for Coufal.
Soucek: 83rd min sub for Emerson
Ings: 92nd min sub for Zouma

West Ham’s second? You wish!
The ‘reports’ on Sky this afternoon sounded pretty poor and allegedly we weren’t at the race. Your player markings seem to confirm that, has Moyes lost the dressing room? Unless something is done we are going to lose our best players and decent ones are not going to want to come in the near future, like the summer. Mibatch
Well, again we dared to ‘nearly reach the sky’ at Christmas, just for our dreams to fade and die again by mid February. We just never learn. These clowns in charge really need to go.
To be fair, the only difference between now and two years ago, is that back then, we played nice football and looked deserving of our lofty position. Not so this year. The polish has been removed from the turd.
