Nottingham Forest V West Ham | Claret and Hugh’s Prediction

Now this is not the team we’d pick. As you know by now this is us trying to second-guess Julen Lopetegui from his ‘form’ in the past and comments he has made this week.

I just have a hunch that he is stubborn and will double down on last week’s mistake to try and prove himself correct. So I’d expect him to start Soler again on the left even though the world and his wife could see this didn’t work last week against Manchester United. He gave all sorts of waffley reasons why he wanted to save Summerville as an impact sub for when the opponents were tired – so it wouldn’t surprise me if he does the same again this week. (Cue much teeth gnashing from me).

I’d hope he finally works out that Paquetás form is woeful and he needs to be reminded that he is not an automatic pick so I’d like to see the Brazilian starting from the bench. But this is Lopetegui..

Predicted XI to start:

Fabianski | Wan Bissaka, Todibo, Kilman, Emerson| Rodriguez, Alvarez, Paquetá |Bowen, Antonio, Soler

Martin’s Predicted Score FOR 2 WHU 1 (Soucek, sub, ) I just think they’re too good for us at the moment. Plus we won’t be so lucky as last week and if we start the same team as first half v Man U, Forest will run away with it in the first half. Scared…. At least I’m not as pessimistic as Gonzo who predicted three zero to Forest this morning on his Hammers Chat video.

===================================================

Last week: Predicted starting line up against Manchester United:

Fabianski I Emerson, Kilman, Mavropanos, Wan-Bissaka I Paquetá, Alvarez, Soucek I Summerville, Antonio, Bowen

Actual Starting XI:

Fabiański, Wan-Bissaka, Mavropanos, Kilman, Emerson, Rodríguez, Álvarez, Paquetá, Soler, Bowen ©, Antonio

2 wrong.

Score prediction was nearly right at 1-1 until ‘that’ penalty!

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970.. 'Football is Life' oh yes. Let it raise your spirit but never darken your mood. Life's too short not to enjoy the journey with our Claret and Blue heroes n' villains.

Game number 10 and still experimenting. No clue what to expect, hoping for something from West Ham but would not be surprised with 3-1 home win. Why is Paqueta there?
28 games left and currently just barely on target to be the right side of the survival number.
I believe we have the players if only they are used to their best advantage. Roll the dice.

Well starting a 3-4-1-2 with Bown & Sumerville playing high & wide, will hopefully allow West Ham to hit Forest on the break?
We’ll see, but IMHO, the best starting 11 available, given the injuries and playing away.

    COYI!

I think he’ll start Summerville. I predict we’ll win 2-1. Maybe wishful thinking, however.

Comfortable 2.0 win for Forest today

I’ll repeat what I said on your previous story, Martin:

Agree with you, Martin. I think you’d make a better team selector than Lopetegui! Maybe you should throw your hat into the ring for the coach’s position. You’ve gotta be better than the tea lady who’s currently in the running for the job! 😂

Oh, and Forest 2 West Ham 2. I’m taking a punt that surely Loopy has seen the error of his ways of selection. For God’s sake!

Lopetegui takes us all by surprise! three centre backs – and who knows what happening up top!

  • Matt says:

Not playing guess the line up as JL annoys the shiz out of me 😡 Not starting Summerville again this week would be criminal. Same can be said if Paqueta starts!

Agree on the score line though 2-1 Forest
