Now it is Pedro !
Following the failure of the potential car-crash signing of Alberto, Tim Steidten has now switched his attention to the £51 million-rated Flamengo forward Pedro according to reports.
The Daily Mirror have reported that Steidten has stayed on in Brazil to try and secure a deal for the 26 year old forward.
The Brazilian international has a £51million release clause, but the Mirror believes the Irons will not pay that much as that, but will offer some “sweeteners”
I hope we do not fall back on our recent habit of lowballing bids
The subject of our interest has a marvellous record for Flamengo, having scored 94 goals in 197 appearances for the Rio de Janeiro-based club.
A proven goal scorer ,he could quickly become a fan favourite, if he can adapt quickly to life in the Premier League.
They better get a move on ,as time is quickly running out due to the transfer window is closing tomorrow.
I cannot understand why we have not gone in for Gnonto. Suits our system, aggresive, and serious pace.
Let’s be honest we need a LB and striker would be a perfect window . Whatever we need a striker , best pull our finger out !⚒
Ha ha, Simon. You say that you hope we do not fall back on our recent habit of lowballing bids. Well I say I hope we don’t end up with another expensive waste of money on a player if Moyes and co have not done their due diligence.
For instance, will Pedro be ok as a loner striker up front? Will he be ok helping out in defence in a ‘park the bus’ defensive formation and then sprinting up front Jarrod Bowen style to get on the end of a team mate’s cross?
Surely there is no way West Ham would spend £51million so it would have to be a pretty smart offer to get this one over the line! And the clock is ticking ….
