Nuno Espirito Santo is expected to offer Mark Robson a role within his first-team staff, according to an update by ExWHUEmployee.
Robson was drafted in by the new West Ham boss to assist with the Premier League games against Everton and Arsenal. Espirito Santo took over from Graham Potter immediately, without having time to recruit his own backroom team, so he leaned heavily on West Ham’s in-house academy coaches.
Robson Impresses Nuno
It appears that development squad head coach Robson has impressed Nuno so much that he is set to be offered a permanent role on his first-team staff.
Robson’s departure will create a vacancy within the academy, which is likely to be filled from within. Steve Potts — who has also been assisting with first-team duties — is thought to be a potential candidate to step into Robson’s current position.
Nuno is expected to name the rest of his staff during the remainder of this international break, ensuring everything is in place when the players return to Rush Green for training.
The news will be a huge boost to the academy who have now seen an immediate progression for both coaches and players.

IRONS
And is the intention to keep these West Ham people like Robson involved with the team even in the event of Nuno losing his job further down the line. Would Robson still be involved to brief the next manager who arrives?
That was my immediate thought too!
I love this. Really want to see our academy full of ex West Ham players in coaching roles. Coaches who know what it takes to make the grade, but also know about West Ham and what we are about.
Then we promote from within. Maybe Robson is a future West Ham manager. But its great if he gets an opportunity now alongside Nuno.
Would love to see Fabianski become a future goalkeeping coach at West Ham, maybe he is going to stay around and get his badges?
