Obiang aims to make up for missed opportunity

ObiangPedro Obiang is focuses on the FA Cup and determined for a Wembley return…but this time he aims to play at the stadium.

Speaking about Sunday’s match on the official site the Spanish international revealed: “I came to England with the Spain Under-18 team but didn’t get the chance to play there. We all travelled to London but unfortunately I didn’t play. It would be nice to make up for that and go back there.”

And he added: “I know a lot about the FA Cup . It is maybe more important for me because it is a competition where I have been playing more regularly and I see it as my chance to shine. I want us to do as well as I can.

“I am very determined to do well at West Ham United. It can be difficult when you are not playing, but my team-mates have been having a fantastic season and there have only been some small gaps for me to fill. I will keep trying until I get my chance more regularly.

“I am confident West Ham can achieve big things as a club. We have been playing a lot of games recently with a fairly small squad and most of the players have had the chance to feature and show what they can do.

“It motivates me and can improve me as a player to have strong competition for places because our job is to give the manager strong decisions to make.”
