Obiang: “The pitch is very big”

Pedro scored his first ever Hammers game

Pedro scored his first ever Hammers game

Pedro Obiang has told reporters that the London Stadium pitch has been difficult for players to adapt to. Talking to the player at the film premiere of  Iron Men in Mile End on Thursday Obiang told the Daily Star:

“I don’t need to explain because clearly, it’s bigger. It’s also difficult to listen to the fans and for us, the pitch is very big.”

The pitch at London Stadium is the standard size required by Premier League and UEFA Rules, 105m x 68m. At the Boleyn Ground, the pitch was shorter at 100.5m x 68m.

To offer some comparison, the pitch dimensions at Wembley Stadium are 105m x 69m

All five football pitches at Rush Green training ground have been made to the same 105m x 68m dimensions as the London Stadium.
