Ogbonna shows commitment

Ogbonna363400Committed Angelo Ogbonna returned to Rush Green earlier this week to work on his fitness ahead of the start of the pre-season training next Wednesday. A video was posted online by Italian journalist to show the player working hard on his own in the West Ham gym. Yesterday the club rewarded Ogbonna’s commitment with a new five-year contract.

Sam Byram and Pedro Obiang have also returned to Rush Green early to work on fitness levels.

Andy Carroll is due to fly back from his family holiday from Hawaii today while Diafra Sakho is also expected to return from Senegal. Both are expected to report for duty on Wednesday but it is not yet known whether one or both will fly to Austria on the 10th July. It is understood that some of the squad who remain injured will remain at Rush Green to work on their rehabilitation with Sakho the major doubt for the trip.

  1. It’s great an all but what does signing a contract really mean nowadays. Payet was on a 5 year deal and didn’t stop that snake leaving…

  2. Does it include a clause that allows him to pass a) forwards, or b) to someone other than the goalkeeper?
