Ogbonna’s secure Hammers future

|

ClaretandHugh’s leading contender for Hammer of the Year Angelo Ogbonna could easily be set to end his career at West Ham.

The 31 year old has been in outstanding form all season and led the contenders by a distance when we put the question to them a few days ago.

And the Italian – who at one stage last season was being regularly linked with a move – has been a rock at the heart of our defence.

Oggy is in fact in contract with the Hammers until 2022 having signed an extension to his deal back in 2017 and we understand he also has an option on his deal of either one of two years.

He has become the Number One central defender after spending much of last season as a backup to Issa Diop and Fabian Balbuena.

This season he has now completed 26 games for two goals coming in the London derbies between ourselves and Spurs and Arsenal.

  • Pete says:

Just keep him until his contract is up and use that time to find a more youthful , skillful, hungrier central defender.
