Olympiacos heavily beaten

Well, if you thought we had a bad result and dreadful performance against Brentford we weren’t alone. Tonight’s Euro League opponents Olympiacos who were were heavily beaten also at the weekend losing 4-2 rather than our 3-2. Neither team therefore has had a great warm-up for a seriously important game at the London Stadium this evening. And it could have been even worse for the Greeks who would have lost by three goals had Giorgos Masouras not scored their second in the eighth minute of second half injury time!

Their opponents PAOK had scored in the 37th, 56th, 64th and 78th minutes whilst Olympiacos managed that very late goal plus one just four minutes from the end of normal time. So the reality appears to be that they were worse than we managed over in south west London. No doubt Moyes had scouts at the match and may or may not have been encouraged by what was reported back.

Regardless of all that West Ham will need to be at their very best tonight in front of a crowd, Claret and Hugh, has just been toldĀ  will be just above 55,000 after a further five thousand rickets were sold over the past few days.

Our team would like like this: Fabianski, Coufal, Mavropanos, Aguerd, Cresswell; Alvarez, Ward-Prowse, Soucek, Paqueta, Kudus and Bowen.

Scouts and videos don’t cut it. Moyes himself should’ve been there as he’s the one who picks the 11 and subs. We fans got a fairly good look at how good Olympiakos can be. Yes it’s not an easy group. Seems like Mubama’s exclusion is contract related. Poor sportsmanship.
