One stat shows level of that Hammers Euro victory

|

Suggestions that we shouldn’t get carried away too quickly by last night’s victory in Zagreb are all well and good.

But equally, let’s also consider the  level of achievement and what may well be to come as we witness the ‘new West Ham ‘ in action following a splendid victory.

One stat demonstrates exactly  just how inspiring we were as we overcame a  Zagreb home record in the competition.

The Irons became the first team to win at the place 14 Europa League group stage games.

Throw into the mix the fact that it was achieved so comfortably with five changes to a team that has gone unbeaten throughout in the Premier League so far this season and things come into sharper perspective.

There will be those who immediately start discussing squad depth and where we will be in January should injuries intervene but there is a growing belief we will cope and no doubt a couple of new faces will be added in the next window anyway.

Let’s please just be impressed for now with what we are seeing and for that for which we are believing.
