OPTA’s finishing places predictions

|

With only one day remaining before the start of the Premier League season, the men of OPTA in their white lab coats have been playing with their computer again.

Despite all the turmoil and unrest pre-season , the Irons are predicted to finish in mid table obscurity, in 11th place.

There are no surprises as to who will be top and who will be bottom with City topped as title winners and Luton Town placed in rock bottom with Sheffield United and Bournemouth to join them in the Championship.

Let’s all hope the first step in that direction can be be utilised by the hammer by inflicting a loss of the Cherries when we meet at the weekend.

It looks likely to be a tight affair and Claret and Hugh is going for a draw with 1-1 iour favoured score. Please God we have got that wrong which may well be the case if we see Lucas Paqueta in the line up.

    Interesting they have Wolves 14th!?

West Ham to be mid-table and a Europa League Trophy winners will do just fine, thanks!

Think they have that about right, although with good signings and a new manager we could turn that around.

Did OPTA successfully predict Leicester City’s Premier League win prior to the 2015-16 season? Did they dare to forecast that West Ham would finish 6th in 2021, or estimate the 4th place finish that Newcastle achieved last season, whilst Chelsea could only manage 12th?

I’m ignoring the OPTA computer or anyone else with a crystal ball.

I bet that table was made before we sold Lucas Paqueta. Our best two players gone. What do the new signings think ? After years of ‘sorrow’ finally time to quit this club. Another vacant seat at the London Stadium !
