More news on West Ham potential signings – as we are now reportedly in discussions with AC Milan over the possibility of signing experienced forward Divock Origi during this summer’s transfer window.
The Belgium international has been left out of Milan’s pre-season tour squad, with the club anxious to move him on before the end of the Summer transfer window.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, a number of clubs have already expressed an interest in signing the 28-year-old, but West Ham are in a strong position, having already started a dialogue with Milan about a deal.
He will be available for £6m which these days is more than reasonable, but it does beg the question ,surely we can do a lot better?
Needless to say, the Belgian only managed two goals in 36 appearances for Milan last season, but he did score 41 goals in 175 appearances for Liverpool, including 22 Premier League goals, before leaving Anfield for Italy .
Origi was apparently a target during his Liverpool years when Jack Sullivan was seen wearing his shirt on social media but it eventually came to nothing!
Totally Underwhelming. 2 Goals in 36 appearances. My God all the time they have had to choose a top striker and this is the best they can come up with.
Oh please , our recruitment or lack of is shocking , really not good enough !
He’s not good enough!
Depending on Antonio / Scamacca we would need 1-2 strikers. At 6m I don’t think Origi would be a bad bet; he has a decent PL record, works hard and can also play on the sides of attack.
We can absolutely do better, and we definitely should, but 6m for a 28 year old with an OK record in PL wont be a bad signing for us. He is also quite good coming off the bench if I remember correctly
