West Ham’s official website (www.whufc.com) has today unveiled an image of the long-awaited claret and blue seats design within the Olympic stadium.
While showing supporters what the club’s new seating arrangements will look like in less than 12 months time, an official Hammers statement said:“Following extensive consultation with supporters, the seating layout will now be transformed to feature the unmistakable claret and blue colours of West Ham United, while preserving the iconic shard design synoymous with London 2012.”
The club will be paying for the seating – and not the tax player. And the words ‘West Ham’ will be emblazoned across the ‘Kop’ style East Stand, which will be complimented by the instantly recognisable crossed hammer symbol with the Hammers, appearing across the lower tier seats and both the North and South stands.
Karren Brady, West Ham’s delighted Vice-Chairman, said: “We have always pledged that the new Stadium will look and feel like West Ham’s home and today’s announcement is further evidence that we have absolutely kept our promise.
“The improvements to the seating are just one of a number of crucial changes that our supporters will see taking shape following the end of the summer events, after which the Stadium will be handed back to the construction team in November. Only then, will the real ‘Westhamification’ take place.
“The day when we can finally unveil the finished Stadium to our fans is getting closer and I, for one, cannot wait.”
Underwhelmed!
I like the style of that, the white seats make it look modern & just enough claret & blue to spice it up
Sod the seats at the OS,lets get some players we need first to make sure we are a Prem team going into it.Dont give a rats arse what my butt is sat on next season. Its this season im bothered about 😉
Maybe it’s just me, but I wouldn’t call that ‘claret and blue’, I’d call it white seating with a bit of writing!
I’m not knocking it because I’ve been in the stadium and it is fantastic, but I agree the CGI is made to make it look perfect. I really hope it delivers because when its full of Hammers that first rendition of Bubbles is going to be something special.
I am still not convinced by the CGI. when you compare that to the photos we had recently there is a big difference in the distances to the pitch – time will tell I suppose. Cannot wait to see the place full up on West Ham match day come 2016. COYI
