OS contract decision on the way

|

A reconvened appeal hearing against the decision to release full details of West Ham’s Olympic Stadium deal with the LLDC was heard in London yesterday.

OSA coalition of 14 supporters’ trusts and groups had a complaint to the Information Commissioner upheld last year, the judgement ordered publication last year by the LLDC decided to appeal the decision.

The coalition which has been backed by a number of GLA members, former Government ministers, MPs and others, has been seeking the contract’s full publication of the agreement.

Much of yesterday’s hearing was heard in private and the judge is not expected to reveal their judgement. BBC sports journalist Chris Slegg has said the result will not be known for 2-3 weeks.

Slegg posted on twitter “Tribunal into LLDC’s appeal against decision that Olympic Stadium deal with West Ham must be made public has ended. Judge to rule in 2-3 wks”

I think these people believe they are on the threshold of unearthing ” gold” in the shape of all sorts of shady dealings that we and LLDC have been cooking up in secret .What i suspect they will really find is boring contractual details that most of them won’t understand that will have little if any impact on WHUFC ‘s tenancy agreement . What a complete waste of time of tax payers money !

Also it will reveal details of lots of things that will be detrimental to future negotiations.

Have to agree with petebonds, some of those Charlton Lifers seem to think they can make a massive difference and the OS deal being published in full would merely be the starting gun for a complete renegotiation of that deal, probably resulting in West Ham having to pay 15 million rent a season and 200 million upfront towards the conversion.

They are sensing some kind of political scandal here, some greased hands and fingers, but I’m sure their main objective is not to see any politician’s career being destroyed here, they are motivated by football tribalism, hence only West Ham having to pay more than what the deal stipulates at the moment will represent success for them.
