OS Digital wrap hits ‘daylight’ snag

wrap

ClaretandHugh has today discovered that the proposed OS digital wrap remains under negotiation because of worries over how it might operate in daylight!

Initial planning permission was granted last month but one condition was to limit the light output to 33% output because of environmental issues..

Fans have been raising questions about the ‘wrap’ and whether it will be delivered after the chairman’s son Jack suggested last night it was in doubt during a Q and A session.

And  today our most senior source told us:  “Final planning permission has not been granted, it goes before the committee in 3-4 weeks and we can only do what council decide.

We know the committee are semi-split and the outcome is NOT a foregone conclusion. We VERY MUCH want the wrap, but not in its original format as it didn’t work in daylight. Some of the council like the existing steel structure wrapper that’s already there but we do not and we want a West Ham United wrap.”

At a recent Hammers fans’ forum supporters were also updated on the digital wrap when it was declared: “We are currently looking at modifications which will help ensure West Ham branding has primacy and the LLDC who resubmit the plans as custodians of the stadium”

  1. Are things starting to unravel ? This is going to just one of the ongoing problems we are going to have to deal with because we don’t own the stadium and therefore have no right to dictate want we do or don’t want.

    • A few issues highlighted here. Even if we did own the stadium, Im afraid that we would need similar planning permission to add such a wrap, the powers that be are concerned that to much light will be obtrusive (despite the glare from the prospective new developments all around) while it seems West Ham and maybe the stadium operators/sponsors (those who will earn from it generally) feel the present set up proposal simply won’t operate in day lighting conditions sufficiently to make it effective and profitable. You can see the headlines now if it didn’t work in daylight can’t you.

  2. I don’t believe FIFA can ever clean itself, because it is riddled with corruption from top to bottom: FIFA needs to be dissolved and a new one created which is accountable to a higher oversight body. If you agree, please sign the petition and pass it on: http://www.newfifanow.org/
