West Ham head coach Graham Potter has given his Hammers players a few days off before next weekend’s Premier League game against Brentford.
The new Irons boss was given an opportunity to spend almost two weeks on the training pitch without the distraction of a match due to the club’s exit from all competitions.
However, rather than take the opportunity to drill more of his ideas into his new players, Potter has decided to give his squad some downtime over the weekend.
It’s a big call from the new gaffer, who must be desperate to build on his training methods, which he himself admits to ‘introducing gradually.’
During his recent podcast appearance, the new manager spoke about the lack of time on the training pitch, with his first game against Aston Villa coming less than 24 hours after taking the job. This was followed by a period of fixture congestion which again denied the new boss time to convey his tactics to his new team.
That said, with a number of players making tentative steps back from injury, Potter’s slow and steady approach should hopefully see a refreshed and reinvigorated squad ahead of the next match against the Bees
Makes perfect sense to give players a few days off , well done Potter . Brentford will be a tough game though ⚒⚒
Not sure about time off at the beginning of the new regime . Will be upset if Westham don’t beat a sub par Brentford at home especially if the team look disjointed .

I’m glad that otters are once more thriving in Britain, but I don’t think they should be running football teams 😊⚒️⚒️

Yet otters always look happy to me. Just like Graham Otter.
