Claret and Hugh’s article this morning made hugely interesting reading as the Hammers went in search of a new goal keeper: Fabrizio Romano broke the story that the Hammers were interested in disillusioned Al Nassr’s Brazilian International ‘keeper Bento.
What was missing from the Romano exposé was the detail that confirmed other clubs, along with West Ham United, were attempting to lure the hugely talented goal keeper away from the Saudi Pro League.
More substance has come this lunchtime from Sportwitness.co.uk who have shed more light on then situation regarding West Ham’s interest:
“Unhappy Hammers – West Ham match transfer offer but player snubs them”
Is the not unexpected, yet disappointing headline for the Irons’ recruitment team, explaining that:
“Genoa are actively chasing the 26-year-old….They have made an official offer to try and get ahead of West Ham…
Nuno Espírito Santo’s side are, however, set for disappointment. That’s because the Brazilian is pushing for a move to the Serie A club over the Hammers.”
After the Irons’ treatment of their goalkeeper recruit Mads Hermansen, (used thrice and banished forever ) and the dreadful saga that unfolded in relation to their abortive bid for fellow Brazilian John Victor (whom they reportedly left waiting at the airport), it is entirely understandable why fellow Brazilian Bento has decided to pass on the east London ‘opportunity’.
Who can blame him, really.
Shame we could have done with a keeper who is good in a box 😀
If Fabianski is fit, he is the answer, a leader and very vocal with his defence, it doesn’t matter that he is not great with the ball at his feet what matters is how good he is at corners and defensive actions and before he left us, he was the best in the prem at that.
Good. Another bullet dodged. Now go get a decent centre back. Too much procrastinating and now Spuds in for Cresswell
Why on earth do West Ham need another goalkeeper and two forwards for that matter. Are they blind ,what’s needed are big central defenders who can head the ball, particularly from corners. The management should look at the stats.
He’s gone. Don’t waste time chasing lost cause
Get priorities right and sort out defence.
That’s another £10m in the kitty so pay going rate.
Sullivan’s reputation precedes him.
I’m more worried about our defence than goalkeeper? Wolves was one of the worst games I can remember, the only enjoyable moment was Areola diving to the right and saving with his left leg which I think would of been contender for save of the season (pure class/reactions) if we hadn’t of been so bad everywhere else? Yes a decent/younger keeper would be nice but when your boat is sinking you need to stop the water coming in, not upgrade the motor? Staying afloat is our only priority now as we don’t have the luxury/points etc to mess about anymore. Hoped the 2 new forwards will prove their worth, we have midfielders and when AWB and Diouff come back we’re good there as well. The only issue is the chuckle brothers, to say we wasted £40m on Killian has to be one of the worst sporting deals on earth? I would want my money back if I paid 40 quid? We desperately need 2 or 3 central defenders or it’s hello championship. It’s so obvious that it hurts to talk about this, even Stevie Wonder would be shaking his head? Also all this sob story about our billionaire board being skint, do me a favour??? If you can’t afford a premiership club then simple, sell it to someone who can. That’s why I drive a focus and not a Ferrari. Rant over. Please 3 points tonight ⚒️⚒️⚒️⚒️
