Angelo Ogbonna has confirmed he wants to remain at West Ham beyond the conclusion of his contract this summer. Oggy was outstanding during the the Nottingham Forest game, he dominated opposition striker Chris Wood who has traditionally caused us problems.
Ogbonna, who will be 35 in May, has been an outstanding servant to the club, having signed from Juventus back in 2015.
The centre-half was out of contract at the end of last season, but penned a new one-year deal having missed most of the campaign due to potentially career ending knee injury.
The former Italian international made his return in Europa Conference League group stages, but was mostly restricted to cup appearances during the first half of the campaign.
Craig Dawsonâs January transfer to Wolves in addition to Kurt Zoumaâs injury have seen the Italian called utilised more regularly by David Moyes, starting seven of the Hammersâ last eight League games, including Saturdayâs thumping 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest.
Steady on Gonzo. You might upset the age police if we keep Ogbonna on past the age of 35. Havenât they been moaning about us having the most geriatric team in the universe all season?
Angelo ‘The Rock’ Ogbonna was absolutely superb. Give him another contract!
