Owners and Moyes get down to business next week

West Ham’s owners will sit down with David Moyes next week to finalise a new contract and set a transfer budget for the summer.

The manager will be offered a new two-year contract and is set to put pen to paper next week

The deal is thought to include a severance clause should things not work out for either side in the next twenty-four months.

West Ham will net around £34 million from Sky positional money and qualification for the Europa League should they get that single point on Sunday afternoon.

And that will be an increase of around £24 million on a budget which saw the board project £10 million for League status at the end of the season.

The Hammers will offer the manager a £50m basic transfer budget plus 100% of the proceeds of any outbound sales and could yet find more for the right player.

Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek are not for sale and the owners will not put any pressure on the manager to sell any of his star players.

  1. WH cannot be unhappy with how Moyes has risen us up from the ashes. I thought he’s worth as much as MP but Covid times dictate otherwise. Don’t think that’s going away completely for a long while.

  2. Moyes will never get the kind of dough that pelllegrini was given unfortunately, that’s because they know they can get away with giving him a lot less and that’s because Moyes has always performed miracles with a low budget. He is famous for doing exactly that with Everton. Be great to see what he could achieve with the same kind of dough pellegrini was given though.

  3. Moyes and his back room team thoroughly merit a new deal with a rise in pay, primarily for staving off relegation and within months leading us into European football.

I’d love to see him fully backed in the transfer window, because if we release three/four players in the summer (Balbuena, Yarmelenko, Anderson and possibly Fredricks), not only would they need replacements, we’d have to add to the squad for European football too!
Could be as many as six-eight inbound!
A lot of work to do with not many resources alas. Tough job for sure.

  4. Come on the Irons the best season for years and no supporters what a shame I think we could have 4 points more than now if you got the West ham roar back Moyes has been brilliant we love him and a nice bloke always gives people time Fergie got him to man u that just shows how regarded he is I love West ham a massive club with a brilliant attitude let’s win today and put our amazing supporters on the European journey thay deserve
