Oxford and the German connection

|

reece-oxford-west-ham-oxford_3335636Reece Oxford is reported this morning as being all set for a season long loan at Borussia Monchengladbach.

The story has been touched on in the past but according to new reports, the teenager in a bid to seriously develop his game with boss Slaven Bilic seeing him as a big part of the Hammers future.

Oxford  experienced a nar wasted loan spell at Reading under Jaap Stam last season and whether his opportunities will be improved by a switch to the Bundesliga is probably debatable.

He made just five league appearances at Reading and the Hammers want to ensure he gets more games under his belt next season..

Classy Oxford can also play in midfield, and the hope is he will boost his chances of becoming a first-team regular for his parent club.

Borussia finished ninth in the German league last season with 45 points.

Could be good experience if he plays. His career does seem to be in danger of stalling.
