Oxford could be offered a German lifeline

Reports in Germany suggest that another German club is considering a loan for him before the 31st August deadline. German magazine Kicker says that Hannover are considering a loan for the 19-year-old Hammer.  Gladbach pulled out of the race for the youngster last week and he has had to make do playing for the West Ham under 23’s since then as he is not part of Pellegrini’s plans. The only offer on the table so far is a loan bid from Bolton Wanderers who have offered to pay seventy per cent of his £20,000 weekly wages.

Hannover are in the market for a centre-back and have admitted that Oxford is one of a number of possibilities. “We have talks, but are still in the identification phase. said Hannover manager Horst Heldt.  “We want to resolve as soon as possible, at least by the Bundesliga start in Bremen a newcomer should come.  We could get a conclusion at the weekend. We are looking at several candidates in the market.”
