The youngsters had to come from behind and took the points via goals from Chelsea duo Dominic Solanke and Isaiah Brown.

Manchester United scouts were believed to be in the stands watching Oxford despite the Hammers making it clear they are unready to entertain bids for the player with two years left on his current deal.

Brown’s winner came in injury time effort and ensured England went top of Group B with six points from two games.

whufc.com report that Oxford’s Hammers teammate Sam Howes was among the unused substitutes for England and his chance could come in the third group game against Croatia in Heidenheim on Monday.

Howes was a winner of the UEFA U17 Championship with many of this group of players two years ago, with England looking to lift the U19 title for the first time since the tournament’s inception in 2002.
