West Ham are ready to listen to offers for Reece Oxford from Borrusia Monchengladbach but as yet there has been no formal approach from the Bundesliga outfit.
ClaretandHugh has learned from a source close to the player by telephone, however, that Oxford would be more than happy to return to Germany where he thoroughly enjoyed life last season on loan before being called back to West Ham by David Moyes.
And with the transfer window set to open again in six weeks time, the 19 year old Hammers under 23 skipper hopes that ‘Gladbach will return ready to seal a permanent offer.
There would be no interest in a loan arrangement until the end of the season from the Irons but an offer of around £5 million is thought to be acceptable.
Oxford has had no sniff of first team football under Moyes or Manuel Pellegrini and has spent the season so far as skipper of the Under 23s.
