West Ham take on Fulham on Saturday in what has become something of a rarity in modern football — a 3pm kick-off.

Before we head to Craven Cottage to face Marco Silva’s side, I sat down with my Hammers Chat partner-in-crime Geo to discuss all things Fulham vs West Ham.

Naturally, much of the focus is on which players Hammers’ head coach Julen Lopetegui will select, especially given the absence of the injured Niclas Fullkrug.

However, not enough attention has been paid to our opponents, who appear to be a very capable team. Having watched Fulham’s Premier League season opener against Manchester United, I was incredibly impressed. United were quite fortunate to secure a win, as Fulham looked the far more dangerous side.

The West London club has made some shrewd signings in the transfer window, and Silva has built a balanced team that combines pace, skill, and physicality. This will not be an easy game for West Ham or Lopetegui, and it’s worth noting that we suffered a heavy defeat against Fulham last season.
