As West Ham United undergo something of a metamorphosis from a basked case into Premier League survival ‘possibles’, north London rivals Tottenham sank nearer to the relegation zone themselves with another defeat which caused their panic-stricken board to fire manager Thomas Frank this morning.
The Spuds will now be looking for their sixth manager in seven years, making West Ham – almost – look the picture of stability.
SkySports’ words last night highlighted how Nottingham Forest and West Ham are now on the verge of being joined by Tottehman in the relegation scrap that will end come May 24th with one of this trio of historic sides exiting through the Championship trapdoor:
“With just 12 games to play, Spurs, sensationally, have been dragged into a relegation scrap. They are more likely to be relegated than both Leeds and Sunderland. Who would have foreseen that when the first ball was kicked in August?”
Whether Spurs experience a nose dive or a new manager bounce could have a huge impact on West Ham’s season with the Irons currently just five points behind and in the form of their lives. The perils of Champions League competition alongside a Premier League campaign might just tip the scales as Tottenham of course have to battle on two fronts – whilst the Irons can focus solely on ‘survival’ after the FA Cup intervenes this weekend.

It could also have other ramifications – if Forest really want Marco Silva they could now be forced to make a move and fire Dyche in case Spurs go for Silva
I see that De Zerbi is now favourite for Spurs – after swearing that he’d never come back to England – and after being pretty much found out in his second season at Brighton
Perhaps now Thomas Frank wishes that he’d never left Brentford – like Potter might wish that he’d never left Brighton

Tottenham are on woeful form, second bottom of the form table. It’s late to be throwing the dice, very little time for whoever comes in to make a difference. For good measure their next game is Arsenal.
Their five points more than we have and their low goal difference are the only positive things for them.
What’s the cost of it all ? I think I read it was £20m to get rid of Postecoglu, same again ?
