Paqueta deal… DONE

|

Lucas Paqueta has joined West Ham!

The attacking midfielder has come into the club from French side Lyon after becoming a key target for boss David Moyes in the final week of the transfer window.

Paqueta comes into the club for a fee worth £52m all in.

The deal is broken down into a £37m initial fee, plus a total of £15m in add-ons.

Paqueta has been announced as the club record signing in the Hammers’ official announcement and he has signed five-year deal with the option of a further year.

The playmaker is a full Brazil international with 33 caps and seven goals to his name and is now a Hammer!

Paqueta will wear the No.11 shirt at the London Stadium and has already expressed his determination to do well at West Ham.

Speaking to the club’s official website, the star said: “I am extremely happy to be here. I hope it’s the beginning of an enjoyable journey. I hope my time here is successful.

“Last season, West Ham had a very good season and I hope they continue to enjoy more and more good seasons in my time at the Club.

“I am excited to pull on the West Ham shirt and show the fans what I can do, to help my team-mates and the Club.”

It remains to be seen if he will make his debut against Spurs.

Really pleased this one is over the line. The only doubts i have over this transfer window is the signing of Flin Downes…………
Can anyone explain to me how he is better than anything we have got / released compared to Coventry at present or Cullen who Moyes let go before because i don’t see it………or is it another ” Mates Deal ” like Hugill !!!!!!!

Let’s just celebrate and be delighted about this signing.
Flynn will show his worth and I think we got a bargain.
