Sources in Brazil claim negotiations between Flamengo and West Ham United, conducted through intermediaries, are continuing today.

Lucas Paquetá is said to have agreed personal terms in principle on a four-year contract with his former club, who are prepared to offer West Ham €35m (£30.4m) plus a further €5m (£4.3m) in add-ons.

West Ham are reported to have requested a condition that Paquetá is loaned back to the London Stadium for the remainder of the season, but this has yet to be verified by either side.

Silence Suggests Something Is Moving

As things stand tonight, club and agent sources are remaining tight-lipped over the latest developments from both camps. That lack of clarity often points to discussions reaching a sensitive stage, with neither side keen to speak publicly.

With talks ongoing and figures now clearly on the table, the sense is that something is very much in play — and a decisive update may not be far away.

We brought in James Ward Prowse to provide cover for the loss of Lucas Paqueta. We should be making better use of our resources.

Lucas Paqueta now starring in ‘Bets, Lies, and Videotape’ on-screen at a football stadium near you!

  • Hammeroo says:

If we get him back on loan then he’ll be either falling over or claiming he has a headache and can’t perform. 🙄

I think it could be good for us.
Paqueta may again play with more freedom, which is when he can express himself, and show us why we bought him and why man City were allegedly willing to pay £85 million for him

Loan idea seems to be a good prospect from whu point of view.
Speed and availability of replacement doesn’t look good..
Struggling with two centre backs without finding somebody to fill Paquetta place.
Not sure what atmosphere would be like amongst team members.
You’d hope everybody would still be together trying to avoid relegation, if possible.
Sooner this is settled the better.

  • John Ayris says:

He’s on the books at something in the region of £15.5m so anything in excess of that goes down as a profit in the books.

Stays here on loan until the end of the season is he’s available until then.

He’s not been doing a lot for a long time.

To increase our chances of survival I think we have to sell and reinvest. Hope he recovers back in Brazil after his FA nightmare.

Sick of reading about the bloke, hopefully this happens very soon !

  • Colin Delicate says:

Definitely hope it happens but don’t want him back on loan. Sell him and move on.
