West Ham Claret & Hugh Exclusive as Claim & Counter Claim Envelop Paqueta Farce
They say twenty-four hours is a long time in politics; well, it seems even longer in the world of football transfers when it comes to the Lucas Paqueta saga.
The latest twist in the Lucas Paquata situation from a source close to the player is that there has been a massive misunderstanding, and the Hammer has been injured all along.
Although the 28-year-old Brazilian arrived at Rush Green training ground yesterday, Claret and Hugh have been told the player was unable to train due to an ongoing back problem, for which he has allegedly received treatment. There was no full training on Monday or Tuesday after most players were given time off.
As it stands, the source close to the Brazilian says Paqueta is now only 50/50 whether he will be fit enough to play this weekend against Spurs.
A source close to the club refuted the latest claims by telling Claret and Hugh, “It’s rubbish, he’s playing games!”
In a plot of claim and counterclaim of this fast-moving story its hard to know who to believe.
As I said, no such thing as “a reliable source” where West Ham is concerned, you just have to sit and watch the theatrics play out.
Get rid of him Nuno is a fool to even think of playing him, he is using excuses to not play again for the hammers as he wants out and the board should just accept Flamengo’s offer so everyone can move on
Antony Martin at hammers.news is reporting a £50mill offer from Tottenham. Though I can’t see that he’s provided any evidence of this as being true. Of course, you can’t really believe anything you read at the moment. If it were true I would say if Paqueta would be happy to go there then we should sell him to Spuds and take the money!
So your “source” close to the club is still briefing against Paqueta. Perhaps the shareholders should put their hands in their pockets if incoming transfers need to be covered.
Can understand why the club are using all sorts of tactics to drive up the selling price if that is what is going on. But the problem about never being honest about things is that eventually you loose the trust of the fans. If he really was injured and still happy at the club then why not say so at the start of the week. His performances this season indicate that he is still affected by the betting case and would be until the end of the season if he stays. If we get a decent offer, take the money and invest it in players that are up for the fight this season and next.
I don’t know what’s true and what isn’t, but he did go off the field against Forest limping and holding his back.
