Paqueta talks update

By Sean Whetstone
West Ham have denied being offered €101m (£87.4 million) bid for Lucas Paqueta Manchester City and have told Pep they want at least €110m (£95.2m) in exchange for their midfielder.

West Ham are holding out for more money for Paqueta after a second bid for City was presented to them.

The report claims talks are set to continue and both clubs are confident a deal can be done.  A previous report claimed a £70m verbal approach was rejected by the Hammers.

Club insiders confirm there has been approaches from City but they are not formal bids and inquiries sounding out a valuation West Ham will be willing to accept.

West Ham do not want to sell but they may be forced to with the player and his new agents keen on the move this summer.

Paqueta has a £85m release clause in his contract from next June but at 26-years of age last this month believes a move to a bigger club needs to happen sooner rather than later in his career.
