Paqueta update

West Ham are set to be without Lucas Paqueta for the game against Bournemouth.

Despite optimistic sounds from the midfielder and his wife who revealed him as being very close to recovery we understand he is very unlikely to make the game.

Paqueta update

We have heard the Brazilian hasn’t been training this week and is more likely to make his first appearance after injury against either Manchester United on Sunday or more probably Arsenal next weekend.

However, it’s all good on other fronts with Jarrod Bowen back of course and Mo Kudus set for the game after Ghana failed to make the later stages of the Afcon Tournament.

On that front Nayef Aguerd will be back in action for Morocco this evening as they take on South Africa in the Round of 16.

With the club having turned down an enquiry for Ben Johnson from Palace today (Tues) the 24 year old looks set to take over from suspended Vladi Coufal at right back against the Cherries.

And with no Paqueta available, the midfield will almost certainly see loan signing Phillips, JWP, Kudus and Alvarez involved.

As a result expect the team to line up something like this: Areola; Johnson, Zouma, Mavropanos, Emerson; Phillips, Alvarez, JWP,  Kudus, Ings or Soucek and Bowen.
