Paqueta’s Hammers position revealed

West Ham have yet to receive any bids or inquiries for Lucas Paqueta who has been linked with both Paris St Germain and Newcastle.

There have been worries over the player’s Hammers future since he was reported as having changed agents but we have been reliably informed that at this stage there has been no approaches from anywhere.

Paris St Germain were interested ahead of the player’s move to the London Stadium but sources close to the player told Claret and Hugh  there has been no inquiry from them of Newcastle boss Eddie Howe despite several reports emerging to the contrary.

There there is no release clause in the Brazilian’s West Ham contract which  runs out in June 2027 although we were informed that should a club come in for the attacking midfielder the fee would probably be in the region of £70 million.

Were PSG to come in of course it would be difficult for the Irons top resist their interest.

We would be absolutely mental to accept 70 million for him. I’d be wanting more than we are getting for Rice. If we sell paqueta too, I would absolutely despair. A seriously top talent we need to build the team around. If we sell paqueta it sends the wrong message out to the likes of bowen too about what we are trying to achieve as a club and id be asking for a transfer too. I’m hoping this is just paper talk but very worrying indeed
