One of the most extraordinary events ever, surely took place in football yesterday – Dimi Payet appeared in the same team as Gokhan Tore.
No I won’t repeat that, unbelievable as it sounds. How can such an event take place and how on earth does that happen?? Sorry but I can’t get the thought out of my head.
Let’s get this straight – the Turkish League isn’t very good and that’s because not very good players disappear there for what is usually a final pay day.
Tore probably couldn’t believe his luck when the Hammers came knocking but given his performance level and the recepton the Irons fans have given him he may now be wishing he’d never left.
Here’s an example of just how good (or otherwise) the Turkish League actually turns out to be.
In the 2015-16 season the top scorers were:
Mario Gomez 31 years old
Samuel Eto’o officially 35 but who knows?
Hugo Rodallega 32 years old
To put it in a nutshell, it’s a poor leagur for ageing and/or not very good players!
Were we going to buy anybody from there Gomez would have been the one but frankly given our great striker ambitions it’s odd that we were looking in that direction at all.
We finished up with Tore who last season played 24 games in the Turkish Super League for a goal return of four plus another in the Europa League. Ok he’s a winger but still…..!!!
We heard some incredible hype in the summer about him being a quality player and a Slaven Bilic favourite. His performances, however, has been as poor as anything we have ever seen.
So tell me just how does he get into the same team as Dimi?
Any Team with Tore and Zaza in it is a mistake – both are absolute cack!
Totally agree. Slav is not the only West Ham manager to persist with no hopers. Carlton Cole and Boa – Morte come to mind. They were played game after game yet produced little or nothing and Tore and Zaza are in the same mould. Slav needs to take this on board and start introducing the youngsters who will provide energy and enthusiasm which is severely lacking.
Maybe cooks a mean shish. Boamorte translates as dead snake. Haha
Funny that is what his wife called him 😉
I must admit when I watched his showreel I thought he looked pretty good and fairly nippy, he doesn’t have the pace though for the premier league unless he is carrying an injury, it mystified me why he was starting ahead of Feghouli who does have pace, I can only think Slav believed he would defend better but who knows ? Hopefully this draw will give us a platform and the players can build some confidence and team spirit during the break, when they come back we have what in our present form is a six pointer against Palace so they better be ready to dig in and start to repay the fans for our support COYI !!!
