Payet back in France

payetcityDimitri Payet is today back in France to make the ceremonial kick off between Lille and a side from his birthplace of Reunion Island – AS Excelsior

The midfielder is being linked with moves to Marseilles and his former club Lille – who are in the middle of a takeover which will dramatically increase their spending power.

Payet will take to kick off  before the encounter at Stade Pierre Mauroy as speculation continues over his next club.

The midfielder hails from the island, which lies in the Indian Ocean nearly 200 miles to the east of Madagascar but has become its best-known footballing export and, along with the fact it was the first place the euro became legal tender, one of its great claims to fame.

  1. Payet is being linked to Marseille and Lille? Who by? I’ll link him to Southend United. By the way, that isn’t true either.
