Payet glad he made the move

|

paytearsDimi Payet has made it clear his move to West Ham has made him a far better player.

As the maestro prepared for tonight’s match against Albania he said: “Many players in the French squad play in the Premier League or have played in it, so I knew about the level.

“Patrice Evra told me playing in it would take my game to a different level and he was right. It is the most competitive leage in the world. Every game you have to fight for it. There is no doubt I have become a better player there.”

He added, after sobbing his way off the pitch following his heroics in the opening game against Roumania: “There were times when I didn’t think I would even be at the European Championships so to be walking off the field, having scored the winning goal in front of our fans gt too much for me. The emotion came pouring out.”
