Payet hits world’s top 20

payet5Dimi Payet has hot the top 20 best footballers in the world.

He is named at No 17 by European journalists in the 2016 France Football Ballon d’Or.

The No27 received one point alongside Real Madrid pair Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, placing him joint-17th in the final Ballon d’Or rankings.

Payet was one of three Frenchman in the top 20, with Paul Pogba ranked joint-14th and Antoine Griezmann third. Barcelona’s Lionel Messi was runner-up to Real Madrid and Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo, who won the accolade for the fourth time.

Alongside Manchester United’s Pogba, the Premier League was represented by Leicester City pair Riyad Mahrez (seventh) and Jamie Vardy (eighth) and the France midfielder’s teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic (13th).

    I honestly believe if Deschamps left him on in that final they would have won, he would have made the difference and he would probably be the Ballon D’OR winner instead of the narcissistic preening fool. Griezmann is a decent player, Pogba is just an athlete with a decent first touch £105 million for that is ridiculous. Payet won the Player of the tournament, Pogba and Griezmann wanted to hog all the glory and along with Deschamps cost their team a major championship and as a result any chance in Ballon D’OR.
