Payet again refuses to give assurances

Dimitri Payet has again made it clear he will not close the door on a move from the club.

Speaking exclusively to French TV channel SFR Sport,  he made his Champions League ambitions clear.

He revealed he wants to play in the Champions League as before his career is over.

The West Ham player also spoke of the interest expressed by Arsène Wenger for him and a possible return  to France in Ligue 1 or his old club Marseille.

He repeated his stance that he does not close the door to anything which will create further speculation that a departure in the January transfer window could still be a possibility despite assurances from the board he is not for sale.

Im not surprised his performance levels are down this season when he is playing along side Sid The Sloth 😉

Payet to Arsenal?? Wenger already said he didn’ buy him before (if you believe that) because Payet is too inconsistent.West Ham are seeing that this season,so add to that he will be 30 soon,he will cost £20-30m ,which Wenger won’t pay and he’s lazy and overweight.Apart from that WHU had 1 good season out of him and if he wanted to play CL why hasn’t he already done so?

I would like to see Bielsa at our club, he was my first choice previously. He certainly wouldn’t accept this laziness and lack of desire plus he has a track record of improving players.

By the way, the video clip in this post does not contain any comments from Payet regarding West Ham or his future. It only is about Bielsa and his personality and Payet’s admiration for the coach. Funny enough, Payet says that Bielsa could be coaching everywhere, anywhere, and the reporter replies “that’s maybe why he is nowhere now”. Loved that one…

No problem letting him go if he doesn’t want to be here- the risk is who we might or might not buy with the proceeds.Perhaps a bargaining chip to get a quality striker?
Does he really think he will get in the arsenal team?!-the way he is playing he might struggle to get in ours!
Anyway if we got Giroud and Gibbs in exchange we solved 3 problems in one go.
I personally don’t think we can play him and lanzini in the same team anyway.

  • Maravilla says:

Time for him to go before it turns ugly, his performances this season have been lacklustre at best, his reputation precedes him…IMHO Lanzini will grow into twice the player he is when he’s gone !

  • Chris Taylor says:

His body language was dreadful on Saturday. If he doesn’t want to be here then sell him fast.

I’m curious to know why he hasn’t played CL football before? But watching him this week he’s clearly carrying a few extra pounds and looked puffed out. Sell him overseas but I want the money back I’ve spent on the shirt I’ve got my son for Christmas with Payet on the back.

  • Daboiflip says:

We all know he will leave us i doubt it will be in January it will be in the summer hopefully the board have a bit of common sence and send him back overseas and not to arsenal or some one like that its clear he dont want to be here but atm he has a job to do so in the summer cut out losess and get some on in whos younger faster and of the same calibre

  • Hammer64 says:

That should be ‘Dimi’ obviously. Who invented predictive text?

  • Hammer64 says:

At first I gave him the benefit of the doubt. I know the papers can get the translation wrong, or change it without lying to make a good story. I think now it’s gone on too long, and it doesN’t show him in a good light. He got a lot of adulation from the supporters last year and this frankly looks cheap. I understand he wants to play CL, but if he hasn’t managed it at 30 that is down to him. He wasn’t attracting any interest before we bought him. I think he does at least owe us a season without all this c*** in the press at a time when the club (and those same supporters) are having a bad time. He could just refuse to discuss it point blank. Show a bit of class Diminish and put your back into it for 6 months!

    • ItalianHammer says:

Let me correct you, he has already played champions league football with Lille and maybe Marseille. He was also attracting interest before we signed him

  • Roman says:

I am sick to death of the constant speculation about Payet’s future.Sell him in January to the highest bidder and don’t tell me he is here to help the Hammers move up the table.Get some pace back in the side and a decent rb. Good grief!
