Payet’s cramped Hammers odds

Dimitri Payet is still priced at an amazing 2/1 to join the Hammers this summer.

The bookies clearly believe there’s more than half a chance of the 31 year old midfielder rejoining us despite reports in France laughing off all such suggestions.

According to Sky Bet the midfielder is a 2/1 bet to be back in a Hammers shirt with Inter Milan priced at 8/1 and Paris St Germain at 10/1.

Sky Bet is of course in the same stable as The Sun and therefore not an outfit to take overly seriously perhaps.

That is probably confirmed by their cramped 8/13 odds on Swansea’s Alfie Mawson becoming a Hammer who was all but ruled out of contention by the club recently.

Jack Butland comes into the Sky Bet book at 14/1 to join the Hammers whilst Jamaal Lascelles – the subject of a reported bid yesterday from us yesterday (Wed) – is quoted at 3/1 to be wearing the claret and blue next season.

  1. How does Sky and SkyBet get away with this, every window SSN touts a rumour and often supplies the odds from their bookies, money is then placed and the transfer never happens. It’s a scam and I can’t believe it’s legal.
Aside from that I prefer Dimi for the entertainment he gave me and not the painful split. Like those memories he is part of our past and I can’t see this one happening.
In the bigger picture I can’t remember such an exciting summer and hope for more.
