Pelle backing Noble to the hilt

Manager Manuel Pellegrini is delighted that Mark Noble has been handed an extension to his current contract because he accepts that his knowledge of all things Irons is required.

The decision to give Nobes the extension came as something of a bolt from the clue but football is not a charity business and that he and the club have decided to let him carry on at the club he loves tells us all we need to know.

Many have said many times that Mark could be near the end of the line, that he’s slowed down and all the rest of it – some of that may be true but the manager clearly believes he has a role both on the pitch and in the dressing room.

He will not be playing as much as he once did as the months tick by but there are many PL clubs who would jump at signing him were he to become available.

And the boss said during today’s presser: “I think his new contract is very positive for him and for the club. Mark has made a big career here and I think he deserves the chance to finish his career here too.

“He knows about this club. In the dressing room, I think it’s important for new players who arrive to have him. He is a very important player for West Ham and he demonstrates that every game for me.”

  1. It continues to amaze me why some fans don’t back Mark Noble and can’t find anything good to say … he has and constantly demonstrates just how valuable he really is .
Some fans are going a bit overboard about Declan Rice . He is still young and with a lot to learn …. I’m sure we all want him to carry on learning at West Ham and justifiably so . But to compare him with Noble is not really a fair thing for either of them . Obviously 🙄 we all await a new deal for Rice because it would be depremental to West Ham if we fail to keep hold of him …. he is in a position to be our Young and upcoming new captain but all things take time .. you can’t run before you can walk . Rice is still on a learning curve ., whereas Noble is a proven asset to be treasured .
The sooner we sort out his contract the better . But please don’t tell me Noble doesn’t deserve his extension . Pelligrini is far from silly .

  2. I completely agree with your comments Kevin. The vast majority appreciates noble for his service to West Ham, however there is for some strange reason a minority that are so quick to knock him. It’s a shame really. He must wonder what he has to do sometimes. I do feel I have to defend him when I shouldn’t be having to. Let’s not forget he is a technically gifted player, he’s never had pace so has not lost it now either. Of course he is getting older, however I always say to people look at the stats, we win more with him in the team than without.. It’s a fact. All this talk of next level is rubbish as well. It will be years years and double the money we have to reach he top 5. And there’s no guarantee of that either.
